Usage

Adjectives are used to describe or give more information about nouns:

    "a blue car,"  "a sad teacher,"  "an intelligent lion"

Adjectives are usually placed right before the noun they are describing.

    "the wild boar"
    (not "the boar wild")

Adjectives can come after the word they are describing; in this case, some form of the verb be is used:

    "That sandwich is big."

In English, adjectives do not agree with the gender or number of nouns.

    "the tall man/woman" (singular)

    "the tall men/women" (plural)

Sometimes adjectives end in -ly . Don't confuse these with adverbs.

    "a friendly letter,"  "a lovely scene,"  "an early train"
