Each of the 20 units is built around a particular business situation. The topic is presented in the context of a storyline that runs through the unit. Characters are introduced and the challenges they face are drawn from the world of international business.
After a brief introductory page that encourages the user to think about the general topic, the lesson proceeds through six stages.
The progress bar to the left of the screen helps users keep track of where they are in the lesson.
- Structure -- the grammar component
- Vocabulary -- words and phrases relevant to the business topic
- Functions -- appropriate English for the situation
- Listening Comprehension -- checking understanding of concepts and details
- Quiz -- assessment of the user's mastery of the lesson material. The ten-question quiz is followed by individualized feedback. The feedback exercise reviews either the structure or function covered in the lesson depending on the user's performance on the quiz. The user has the option to take both feedbacks if she chooses.
- Reading -- in-depth reading of topic-based material, followed by comprehension questions. The student is then directed to post a response to a question on a related topic in the discussion group.
