Arizona

With a spectacular desert landscape and year-round sunny skies, Arizona's environment makes it one of the most popular tourist destinations in America. You won't find a more comfortable place during the winter, and even the summer heat is bearable because of extremely low humidity.

Arizona's largest city, Phoenix, is a vast, sprawling metropolis which spills into its surrounding desert. It hosts some interesting museums and is an ideal place to stay when you visit the nearby Superstition Mountains. Other places in the state offer more interesting stops, though. Tucson has an eclectic mix of art and culture, and is surrounded by mountains and miles of great hiking trails. With their Mexican and Native American historical and cultural backgrounds, the smaller cities of Flagstaff, Yuma and Bisbee are great places to visit for a day. And 'ghost towns' such Tombstone celebrate Arizona's history as part of the Wild West frontier with re-creations and exhibits.

Arizona is a fantastic place for camping, hiking and enjoying natural landscape. The Grand Canyon is the most famous and popular site, but certainly not the only impressive destination. Saguaro National Parkis filled with giant cacti and rare desert wildlife, the Indian Country in the northeast has magnificent canyons and Native American ruins, and there is much to see in the thriving city of Sedona.
