New York

New York is one of the most interesting and diverse states in the country. It is best known as the home of New York City, the largest metropolis in the United States and the most famous city in the world. The 'Big Apple' is an extraordinarily exciting town, packed with fabulous attractions and an infinite range of amusements and diversions.

If you love art or music or theater or food, New York City has something to awe and inspire you. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the greatest museums in the world, filled with more art than you could see in a lifetime. Radio City Music Hall and the theaters of Broadway stage world-famous performances for millions of enthralled fans each year. And in this capital of the Great American Melting Pot, where people from all over the world live next door to one another, it is no surprise that you can sample every kind of cuisine known to mankind.

There is more to New York State than the world's most famous city, however. The historic Hudson Valley north of the city is home to dozens of idyllic small towns perched above the Hudson River. Northwest of the city, the Catskill region is filled with farms and rolling hills, perfect for a quick getaway from the crowds of Manhattan.

The Adirondack region in the northern part of the state is remarkably wild, filled with mountains, lakes and hundred of small towns. In the western part of this vast state, rolling farmlands run past the Finger Lakes, heading toward the majesty of Niagara Falls, one of the largest waterfalls in the world.
