Washington

Like its neighbor Oregon, Washington state is filled with some of the most spectacular and varied landscape in the United States. It has rugged mountains, rainforests, beautiful islands in the Pacific Ocean and even deserts spaces in the east. There are so many interesting places to see that it would be hard to see them all in one visit.

The most popular destinations for visitors are Olympic National Park and the Puget Sound area. The park is an extraordinary area filled with that includes a rainforest, beaches, mountains and miles of hiking trails. A cluster of small islands are scattered around the Puget Sound area, offering breathtaking views of the Pacific and back toward the mainland. Many islands have resort areas where visitors gather to enjoy the natural beauty.

Seattle is the largest city in Washington, a bustling cultural center that complements the state's many outdoor attractions. One of the fastest growing cities in the country, Seattle has a thriving arts and entertainment scene. The city's culture has had a powerful influence on the national culture in the last few years, as the city has become a major source of original music, computer programs and coffee for the rest of the country.
